Everything from Twilight saga to the Finnish national epic Kalevala was
recommended when fans were asked to pick their favourite books.Topping the
poll was Twilight - Stephenie Meyer's tome of teenagers and vampires. The
remaining selections showed a true diversity in taste with choices ranging
from romantic pot boilers and horror stories to classic fantasy and even
some Finnish poetry.Finnish Costa Bingo fan Satu E. said: "My favourite book
is definitely the Finnish national epic Kalevala. Everyone should read it.
It's written in the 19th century and based on traditional Finnish poetry and
based on stories that Elias Lönnroth collected," she said.
Other popular choices and authors included Stephen King, Jackie Collins,
Harry Potter, Danielle Steele, Dan Brown, and Terry Pratchett.The one clear
favourite was the Twilight saga with several Facebook fans expressing some
real passion about these bestselling titles. One fan, Corrina G., said: "The
Twilight saga books are absolutely amazing thanks to Stephenie Meyer. Once
you start reading the books you just can't stop reading,
I read three books in three days and nights. The books are a bit like
Pringles - once you pop you can't stop! If you like to feel emotions when
you read these are for you, I've laughed, cried, been scared and felt the
love between Bella and Edward - just by reading a few words printed on a
piece of paper," she said.Children's books also featured with Enid Blyton,
the Mr Men, Winnie the Pooh, BFG, and the Hungry Caterpillar all getting
fanned.
Gareth W. also put in a big shout for Terry Pratchett: "I like the Terry
Pratchett novels. He is a great author who has recently been struck with the
terrible thing that is Alzheimer's. He is the author of the incredibly
popular Discworld novels and the Hogfather. I believe these are the funniest
series of books there are," he said.With Anne Frank and Wuthering Heights
sitting alongside Coleen Rooney and Jade Goody's autobiographies, no one can
deny that bingo players have a diverse and eclectic taste in literature.

take part then here is the drill: you will be required to fill out an entry
form that is available from any of the local Mecca Bingo clubs and it is
important to note that all these application forms must be completed and
returned to the club by the 16th May. Each of the clubs finals are due to
take place on Friday 11th June 2010 and will be judged by up to three
impartial judges from the local community.
It is not surprising that Mecca Bingo have faith in its customers and as
such are sure that their bingo playing are looking for all sorts of variety
acts just like on the TV program and basically anyone who can get on a stage
and keep an audience entertained. What is in it for the winning club? Well
the stakes are high and the returns are also enviable as the winning club
act from each of the participating clubs on the local level will receive a
pair of tickets to the live Britain’s Got Talent tour and be invited to
compete in a regional semi finals event. Those performers who demonstrate
their talent well and are lucky enough to make it through to the semi-finals
will have a chance to compete vigorously against other winners from Mecca
clubs across the UK in the national finals event. The finals event will take
place on 4th September at Mecca Bingo in the Midlands, with the overall
winner receiving a £3,000 cash prize and the chance to perform at Wembley
Stadium next May during the 2011 Blue Square Premier Play-off. It is time
those bingo players and those who have talent at the same time to dust off
their dancing shoes and do the two things that they love to do the most.
